How to create an employee ID series?

Employee IDs help in uniquely identifying the employees of your organisation. A series can be created with prefix, suffix and variable so that the IDs will be assigned for each new joinee of the organisation. This series can be created for each department or common for some departments. Ensure that the departments are created before you set out to create the Employee ID series.

  1. Enter a Series Name. You can provide a short name by which you can identify the departments for which the series is applicable.
  2. Enter the required prefix of the series. 
  3. Enter the starting number of the series. 
  4. Enter the required suffix of the series. Remember that both the prefix and suffix remains the constant for all the IDs of the series.
  5. Enter the padding for number. Through padding you can add as many zeroes to the number as you want.
  6. Now you can select the departments applicable for the series.
  7. Click SAVE.

Click to edit or delete the created series.
