How to create assessments under an academic term?

> Examination > Exam Hierarchy

  1. Select a Class for which exam hierarchy needs to be configured.
    INFO DISPLAYED

    • Mandatory:  Indicates that it is mandatory to pass
    • Group: Indicates the group of Terms, Assessments, Subjects, Subject activities  or Rubrics
    • Scholastic: Indicates the scholastic assessments, subject, subject activities or rubrics
    • Co-scholastic: Indicates the co-scholastic assessments, subject, subject activities or rubrics
    • Missing Configuration: Indicates that the hierarchy is not set till the level of subject activity for the term, assessment, subject, subject activity or rubric.
  2. Click the Academic Session name (Ex: 2017–18). The academic terms and groups created will be displayed under the selected Academic Session.
  3. Click the required term or the group of terms to create assessments under it.
  4. Click Add Level in the assessment level if you have not created any assessment under the selected term.
  5. Click Create New option in the assessment level, if at least one assessment is created. The pop-window for creating the assessment will appear.
  6. Turn on the toggle to make it mandatory for the student to pass the assessment.
  7. Select if the assessment is Scholastic or Co-scholastic.
  8. Enter the Name of the assessment.
  9. Enter the Short Name with which you want to identify the assessment.
  10. Enter the Sequence No. Academic assessments are displayed on the report cards as per the sequence numbers entered.
  11. Provide Attendance Start Date and Attendance End Date of the assessment.
  12. Click PROCEED.
  13. Select a Grade System for determining the scores in the assessment (Example: CBSE Scholastic).
    NOTE
    You can create your own logic for grade system from > Examination > Grade System > Custom Logic
  14. Enter the Maximum marks for the assessment. To accurately reflect the students’ performance in the assessment, scaling of marks is also recommended.
  15. Select the cut-off % of the assessment ( if it is marked as mandatory to pass the assessment).
  16. Click PROCEED.
  17. Turn on the toggle if you want to group assessments that are already created.
    1. Turn on the Session Level toggle to create session-level assessments.
    2. Select a Calculation Logic (Sum or Average) for the subjects under the assessment.
      NOTEUnder Advanced Settings, you can configure the number of the best scores to be considered from the subjects linked to the assessment.
    3. Select the assessments that you want to group under this assessment.
    4. Select the checkbox against the assessment to make it mandatory to pass. Cut-off marks/% need to be provided for the respective assessments if the assessments are marked as mandatory to pass.
    5. Click if you wish to add any other assessment.
  18. Click FINISH.
